Can you upload a PowerPoint Presentation?
Response:
Yes, we added the ability to upload PowerPoint files in the Organization's Home Page Advanced Designer using the Documents functionality. In addition, you can upload Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and PDF.

How do I create an opportunity?
Response:
Organizations can create opportunities from their Organization Account. These opportunities will be added to the national database for volunteers to search and sign up for. The script below is for the creation and editing of an opportunity.
To create an opportunity follow these steps:

Login with your organization login |

Using the menu, go to Opportunities -> Create New Opportunity. |

Complete the information in the form and submit. |

How do I create an organization?
Response:
By creating an Organization account you will be able to post opportunities(s) to the nationwide database of service activities. This listing can help you attract volunteers, sponsors, and media attention. Volunteers will be able to sign up for your opportunities and your organization will be able to invite volunteers in your volunteer pool to participate in opportunities.

Question:
How do I customize your Volunteer Registration form?
Response:
Volunteers register to the site and signup for opportunities by creating an account in the system. All volunteer accounts need to be associated to an organization. Although the system has a standard registration form for volunteers, each organization can customize parts of this form.

Login to your Organization Account |

Click on Customize your Volunteer Registration Form |

Click on Edit Instructions to modify the instruction on your form. |

Select which fields you wish to display and make required or not. |

Under Custom Fields add your own questions |

Save Form |

Click on Preview Registration Form to preview |

This form will now be associated to your organization. To test, go to http://my.mlkday.gov/public/indexSearch.aspx and search for your organization. The search results page defaults to show opportunities change it to show organizations. Click on Sign Up for the organization. You should see the form you customized. |

How do I insert a video on my home page?

You can insert a video on your Home Page Video Gallery by following the steps below:
PART 1: Add video un Google Video
(1) Go to Google Video https://upload.video.google.com/?hl=en
(2) Create an account, if you don't already have one
(3) Upload your video
(4) Test your video
(5) Write down your the Google Video ID (docId)

PART II: Link your video to your Project Tool page
(1) Go to the the Project Tool site
(2) Login
(3) Go to Customize -> Customize your Organization Home Page
(4) Select Advance Designer
(5) Select the zone where you want the link to your Video Gallery (usually zone B)
(6) Click on Video Gallery
(7) Enter your Google Video ID (docId)
(8) Click on Save
(9) Check the box next to Video Gallery
(10) Click on Preview
The Corporation for National and Community Service will review and approve you video within a couple of hours during work hours. |

Question:
How do I retrieve a lost password?
Response:
The system allows users to retrieve their password. It will request the user to provide their username. The system will reset the password and send the user an email with a temporary one.

Click on Did you forget your password? |

Follow the instructions and click on SEND. Make sure you entered a username with a valid email and at an address that you receive. |

How do I upload a photo?
Response:
Organizations can upload images to their Home Page or their Photo Gallery. All images must be approved by the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS). To upload an image follow the steps below:

How do use the Quick Home Page Designer?
Response:
Organizations have their own Home Page. This is a page that you can customize with your content and images, as well as functionality to show photos, show videos and allow users to download documents. To customize the Organization’s Home Page, the Project Tool site offers two ways of doing this: the Quick and the Advanced Home Page Designer. The test below is for the Quick Home Page Designer.

Using the menu, go to Customize Site -> Customize your Organization Home Page. |

If it is the first time you enter this page, you should be in the Quick Home Page Designer. Click on the Advanced Designer link, if you are not already in the Advanced Designer. |

Read the instructions. |

Select all the zones in the middle grey box. Notice how the Home Page layout changes as you activate each. Select 4 or more zones to enter content. |

Select one zone to use for an image. Click on CLICK TO EDIT on the Home Page layout or zone name in the SELECT ZONES box. Select “images” for the type of content, read the instructions, upload an image and submit the form. |

Select another zone to add rich text from a Microsoft Document. Click on CLICK TO EDIT on the Home Page layout or zone name in the SELECT ZONES box. Select “Rich Formatted Text” for the type of content, read the instructions, cut & paste text from a Word document and submit the form. |

Select another zone to add system “gadget”, such as the Project Listing. Click on CLICK TO EDIT on the Home Page layout or zone name in the SELECT ZONES box. Select “Most Recent Project List” for the type of content, read the instructions, and submit the form. |

Select another zone to add links to your page. Click on CLICK TO EDIT on the Home Page layout or zone name in the SELECT ZONES box. Select “Links” for the type of content. Read the instructions. Select 4 of the types of links to activate. To customize, click on the name of the link. |

What do I need to connect to a My Project Tech Tool Webinar?

To connect to the Webinar you will need a computer connected to the internet, running:
PC-based attendees
Required: Windows® 2000, XP Home, XP Pro, 2003 Server
Macintosh®-based attendees
Required: Mac OS® X 10.3.9 (Panther®) or newer
To make sure you can connect to the Webinar, test in advance if your system is compatible with GoToWebinar. Download and run the GoToMeeting Connection Wizard. To access the GoToMeeting Connection Wizard, visit http://www.gotomeeting.com/wizard. If you still cannot connect to GoToMeeting or GoToWebinar, contact your company IT department for assistance.
TIP: Some email systems do not allow you to click on a secure link from your email. Try copying and pasting the link directly in your browser URL address line.
