Opportunity Description: Seacoast Interfaith Hospitality Network is always looking for volunteers to help out at their program! Seacoast Interfaith Hospitality Network offers transitional housing to those families facing temporary homelessness.
Volunteer are needed to:
Lead art activities and other enrichments for youth
Read, play games and spend time with youth
Help parents build their resume writing skills
Cook and serve meals
Days and Hours
Mon-Fri: Help needed from 9am-3pm
Sat-Sun: Help needed from 10am -5pm
Days: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday
Tasks for Volunteers: Lead enrichment activities with youth

Granite State Ambassadors ~ their training consists of 14 hours of training through 7 modules. Specialized training as well. To keep GSA status, must continue to be an active ambassador.
Manchester City Hall Info Booth ~ approximately 12 hours/wk. Must know where each dept is located in order to direct public to offices. Clear, police voice required.
SEE Science Center ~ greet visitors, man cash register, answer questions.

Opportunity Description: KNITTERS:
Knitters are needed to make hats, mittens, scarves, sweaters, afghans, and chemo hats which will be given to the needy at schools, soup kitchens, shelters, hospitals, and nursing homes.
Stay in the comfort of your own home and knit. Drop the finished products off at our office or we will gladly pick them up from you. We usually have a supply of yarn to give out as well.

Opportunity Description: READERS AND TUTORS NEEDED:
Bartlett Elementary School ~ needs support services to students who require help in reading, writing, and/or math to help them work on grade level. (School year only)
Families in Transition ~ needs help with GED tutoring, help in the Children’s Literacy & Arts Program (1 hr/wk x 6 wk commitment).
Learn to Read (Adults) Independent ~ one-on-one pairing to teach an adult to read. Part of ProLiteracy America Programs. Orientation and 16 hour training required (2 Sat in a row, 8:30-4:30) off site in Bedford. 6 mo to 1 yr commitment required. Tutoring done at Manchester City Library and also West Side Community Library.

Parker-Varney School ~ needs help with reading and math (School year only).
Peabody Mill Environmental Center ~ teachers wanted for environmental/science programs.

Opportunity Description: Ashoka's Youth Venture believes in the power of young people to lead positive social change in the world. We invest in teams of youth (12-20) to create, launch and lead their own community-benefiting projects, clubs, businesses, initiatives or organizations - Ventures. Venture Teams across New England are now providing birthday parties for low-income children, raising money to buy water purification systems in third world countries, teaching jewelry making classes, producing low-cost commercials for local nonprofits, and banning plastic bags to improve the environment.
The New England regional office has volunteer opportunities available as Selection Panelists. Before a Venture is successfully launched, it needs to be approved by a Selection Panel of Community members. Panelists listen to a presentation by the Venture Team, ask questions to support the Team, and makes sure that the Team is ready to launch.
