Opportunity Description: Art Sphere, Inc - "Changing Lives Through Art" is a 501(c)(3)non-profit, founded in 1998 to bring art education to inner-city youth. More information at www.artsphere.org. The goals of Art Sphere Inc.’s programs are to challenge and mentor participants from diverse backgrounds, giving them the opportunity to exceed expectations and find success in art and learning. Volunteers are invited to participate in art activities and team building fun cleanup and creative projects at the Fishtown Recreation Center. Join us Monday, January 21st as we celebrate MLK Day, from 10-2 to continue beautification of our two year project site Fishtown Recreation Center. We will be working with stencil workshops, mural painting and park cleanup activities. Please come prepared to paint with acrylic and water-based permanent paints. Bring old clothes and warm clothes as well as special dietary needs. We will be able to work under open air roof and porch in most types of weather, as well as indoors. Fishtown Recreation Center is located at 1201 East Montgomery Avenue, Philadelphia, PA, 19125. Ed Carpenter is the FRC Director and can be reached at 215-685-9885. Furthermore, Fishtown Recreation Center is one block north of Girard Avenue, making it accessible to the El (Girard Stop) and Girard trolley line. The playground and center rests between Montgomery Avenue and Palmer Street, with the1201 East entrance located opposite Fishtown Police Precinct and Fishtown Branch of the Free Philadelphia Library.

Opportunity Description: Are you recently retired or bored? Do you need an new hobby to get you through the winter months? Are you ready to boost your self esteem, meet new people, build new friendships, help a neighbor in need? If you answered yes to any of these questions then WE NEED YOU!
With the ever increasing demand for consumer services and the decrease in federal and state funding, agencies need volunteers to help provide consumer and support services.
Some volunteer opportunites include: providing consumers with information and referrals; technology instructor; adult education tutor; data entry clerk; income tax preparer (VITA); assisting with food distributions; working with victims of domestic violence; mentoring children; environmental activities and many others.
Volunteer opportunities are available at many non-profit agencies throughout Jefferson, Indiana and Clarion Counties.
